Here at Siberian Nation, it is very hard to tell it is has been Christmas
and now going on New Years Eve.
The weather has been warmer than usual for this time of year with a lot of rain. So far snow has been in the forecast a couple of times, but so far no accumulation. One day so far in the month of December I can say I actually got to see it snowing.
And yes that was the morning Maya Jane and Bosley woke me up both doing the snow chant .. Snow...SNow...SNOw...SNOW!!! Over and over. It must have worked a little bit because when I walked outside with them in the lead it was snowing halfway decent but with none sticking to the ground.
Today, I really wish it was colder and wasn't just raining all day. We were all outside, Bosley decided while drinking water from the pond to just plop in it (accidentally falling in), after that what he decides was to go out to the driveway and crawl under the trailer to get out of the rain. Well this was all and good except the ground there was dry and was dusty dirt. I really wish I had taken my camera out with me (the picture would have been priceless). He no longer looked like a Siberian Husky. He looked ummm - errrrr like a fluffy mud dusted curly tail fluff creature from ???. And YES, he had to run up to me and show me how much he admires me. He is now nice and comfy AND CLEAN & DRY now, laying curled up next to me (Probably dreaming about what I looked coming back into the house). The worst part is I actually believe Maya Jane and Rosie thought it was a great show!!
Anyway I hope that everyone and all of their curly tail as well as non curly tails,

in Los Angele's, Calif. they are taking good care of the XMAS pup that has been having seizures that got dropped off at a shelter on Christmas.
And for the new people out there I am going to say please remember to watch what share with your favorite curly tale this New Years Eve. Some things can be dangerous!!! A partial list of things is below as well as their Holiday Etiquette.
As New Years Eve approaches, it is important to encourage pet owners to prepare for their pets sake & safety. The loud noises during this holiday traumatize many animals during the holiday celebrations. Fireworks, aircraft, and other related racket may turn pets into a quivering mass of jelly, or have them bolt as a result of their fright; they may also be destructive to the home, or even worse, to themselves.
Other things that can be dangerous around the holidays
- Mistletoe
- Lilies
- Chocolate
- Raisins/grapes (also fruitcake)
- Turkey bones
- Poinsettia
- Alcohol
Holiday Etiquette for Sibes and Friends
Be especially patient with your humans during this time. They may appear to be more stressed than usual and they will appreciate long comforting dog leans and wet sloppy kisses.
Your humans may come home with large bags of things they call gifts. Do not assume that ALL the gifts are yours.
Be tolerant if your humans put decorations on you. They seem to get some special kind of pleasure out of seeing how you look with fake antlers.
The humans may bring a large tree into the house and set it up in a prominent place and cover it with lights and decorations. Bizarre as this may seem to you, it's an important ritual for your humans so there are some things you need to know:
Don't pee on that tree!
Don't drink water from the container that holds that tree!
Mind your tail when you are near that tree!
If there are packages under the tree, even ones that smell interesting or that have your
name on them, don't rip them open!
The ornaments hanging from the tree are NOT dog toys.
Don't chew on the cord that runs from the hole in the wall to the tree.
Your humans may occasionally invite lots of strangers to come visit during this season. Be patient, even if unknowing strangers sit on YOUR couch and do NOT drink out of glasses that are left within your reach.
Do NOT eat off the buffet table.
A big man with a white beard and a red suit may emerge from your fireplace in the middle of the night. Whatever you do
DON'T BITE HIM!
